A word of advice when considering where to take your scooter for service.
There are a number of smaller scooter dealers and independent service shops offering to work on scooters for $40.00 to $45.00 per hour. The reason they can do this is they hire inexperienced people at minimum wage to do the work. This can results in 2 things.
1. Due to their lack of experience a 30 minute job that would cost you $32.50 at a shop that employs experience scooter mechanics and charges $65.00 per hour can take the inexperienced person 1 to 1 ½ hours to complete. At their $45.00 per hour rate the $32.50 job at an experienced shop ends up costing you $45.00 to $67.50 at their shop.
2. We hear from a number of people that have taken their scooters to these shops for repair that tell us that not only did it cost them more but the problem was never truly fixed and they had to take it to a shop where the mechanics knew what they were doing to finally get the problem fixed correctly.
